Speed sailing really is all over the news at the moment ! There's the WotRocket we mentioned earlier in the week that's just started official testing in Australia, although the winds have been too light as yet. So now it's Alain Thébault's Hydroptere that's starting to make the running and gossip...Still in the proces of being re-assembled, the Hydroptere should be undergoing static testing in the next few days to make sure everything is properly in place, then it's time for some final adjustments and tuning of its measuring equipment.Once all that's completed, Hydroptere will make its initial runs on the "rade de Toulon" in the south of France, before heading for Marseille just along the coast, the boat's base camp for the record attempt series !Then it's as planned, off to Port-St-Louis-du-Rhone, off the immense "plage Napoleon" beach, that Hydroptere will be hoping to get the conditions necessary to smash the 50 knot barrier...
