Hawaii is part of the United States, but there are some things different then on the Mainland. For example driving a motorcycle you don’t need to wear a helmet. And Hawaii’s favorite car is a truck, and you can sit on the back of the truck while your friend is driving. This really surprises me, because first safety is everything in the us and second what the police on Maui is really taking very seriously is the seat belt law. They are constantly looking for drivers that are not wearing them and you will be issued a ticket. Buckle up, it’s the law! So if you want to feel free, just sit on the back of the truck.
In one thing the US is really good is in creating slogans. Like example for the law to wear seatbelts.

The two most seen bumper stickers on the islands are:
- slow down this ain’t the mainland
- welcome to Hawaii, now go home (is a bumper sticker hardcore locals put on their lifted truck)
